It is said the "Rome wasn't built in a day", however, much like most of Roman mythology, this phrase actually originated about Greece. Given that, what better way to mix city building and mythology than a game exactly about that, Santorini.
The rules of Santorini are simple. And can be read here, or watched here
Each tribe will begin with 2 workers placed on a 5x5 grid. The first tribe to go will place their 2 workers on the grid, followed by the other tribe. Afterwards the starting tribe will take their first turn.
On your turn you will have to take two actions:
1. Move one worker of your choice to any adjacent (both orthogonal and diagonally) space. You may move up 1 level, move down any number of levels, or move to a space on the same level.
2. Build by adding a block or dome to any adjacent (both orthogonal and diagonally) space. You do not need to be at a certain height to build a level. You must always move, then build. If you are unable to, you lose.
Towers will have 4 levels. When a player builds a level, they must start with level 1. If the space they want to build in already has a level 1, they add a level 2. If a level 2 is there, then they add a level 3. Once a level 4 or a 'dome' is added to a tower, that tower can no longer be built upon and no player may enter that space. Domes are used to block other players from winning.
Winning the game:
To win the game you must have a worker move to the third level of a tower. The team that succeeds in this will win the challenge. The other tribe will be eliminating 1 player from their tribe.
ADDITIONALLY, we will be using Simple God Powers for this game. Here are some notes on God Powers as well as the list of Gods Powers available for the game.
Normal Rules and conditions still apply to you when using a God Power, with the exception of the specific changes described by the God Power.
You must obey all God Power text that says you “cannot” or “must”, otherwise you lose the game.
Domes are not blocks. If the God Power description states it affects blocks, it does not affect domes.
“Forced” is not “moved”. Some God Powers may cause Workers to be “forced” into another space. A Worker that is forced, is not considered to have moved.
Remember: to win the game by moving onto the third level, your Worker must move up during your turn. Therefore, if your Worker is Forced onto the third level, you do not win the game. Moving from one third level space to another also does not trigger a win.
God Powers apply or are triggered at a specific time, according to what is stated at the start in the God Power’s description:
For example, Apollo’s God Power description starts with “Your Move”. This means if you possess Apollo’s God Power, it can only be used by you during the “move” phase of your turn. When using a God Power, all text in its description is written from the perspective of the player possessing the God Power. Any time an “opponent” is mentioned in a God Power description, it is referring an opponent of the player possessing the God Power.
Additional Win Conditions are specified by some God Powers. In addition to being able to win by moving up onto the third level during your turn, you can also win by fulfilling the “Win Condition” described
And the list of God Powers Possible
For selecting God Powers each tribe will provide the mods a ranked list of the 10 God Powers prior to game start. During each game the top God Power on each tribes list will be used, HOWEVER, if both tribes list the same power in the same spot, neither tribe will get it and we will move onto the next power on the lists.
This challenge will be played live tomorrow evening at [insert time based on previous doodle]. Each tribe will play as one player, so you don't need to have everyone online at once. You will be playing on board game arena with the following table configuration:
Please note that while there is technically no time limit, we will prod you if your tribe is taking too much time to submit your turn.
You will need to add each other as friends in order to offer a challenge, but that can be done at the start of the challenge, and one of the mods will spectate the game so have the link ready. We will also give you two practice accounts in your tribal area so you can practice with each other without revealing your ID.
The tribe that wins 2 games first will win immunity, and the other tribe will vote someone out at tribal council.
Time Expectations: We would estimate one hour, maximum, for each game, for a total potential of three hours.
Communication: You may freely discuss this challenge as a tribe.
