Dualism defines Chinese cosmology in many respects, but none so potent as Yin and Yang. Yin and Yang can represent such disparate dualities as winter and summer, disorder and order, dark and light, and even the peaks and troughs of waves. However, despite describing sets of differences, yin and yang really represent one common force, the paradox of existence itself, the interrelation of opposites. In this challenge, you'll be discovering for yourself the interrelation of opposites. You'll be given two words, and tasked with connecting the words through as few opposites as possible on thesaurus.com. For example, if you were given the words "delicious" and "illiterate", you could connect the words by going from "delicious" to "tasteless" to "interesting" to "dull" to "intelligent" to "illiterate". When you're ready to begin, you'll fill out this form, and complete your links as quickly as possible. You may use as many connections as you wish, but failing to complete a given set will result in a 15 minute penalty and an automatic score of 50 connections for that set. The person who uses the fewest total connections across all sets of words will win immunity. In the event of a tie, the faster solve will win immunity. Time Expectations: This challenge should not take longer than 75 minutes. Communication: Discussion about this challenge is not allowed.

Just a reminder the chains were 1. Insurrection-->Bad Manners 2. Calibrate-->Uglify 3. Deserve-->Capitulate 4. Embarrass-->Magnify 5. Accord-->Dissimilitude Let's go in alphabetical order again. Athena: Got chain 1 in 5! Had an invalid submission for chain 2 since the latter word is uglify not ugly. Got chain 3 in 6! Got chain 4 in 3! Got chain 5 in 6!
Leading to a score of 70!
Hades: Got chain 1 in 5! Got chain 2 in 8! Got chain 3 in 6! Got chain 4 in 3! Got chain 5 in 6!
For a final score of 28!
Jael: Got chain 1 in 5! Got chain 2 in 4! Had an invalid submission for chain 3 since win does not link to capitulate. Had an invalid submission for chain 4 since help does not link to degrade. Had an invalid submission for chain 5 since agreement does not link to dissimilitude.
For a final score of 159!
Jesus: Got chain 1 in 5! Got chain 2 in 6! Got chain 3 in 6! Got chain 4 in 5! Got chain 5 in 6!
For a score of 28!
Maat & Hathor: Got chain 1 in 5! Got chain 3 in 6!
But did not submit for any of the other 3 chains for a score of 161!
Papatuanuku: Got chain 1 in 5! Got chain 2 in 4! Got chain 3 in 6! Got chain 4 in 3!
But for chain 5 submitted a link to dissimilarity not dissimilitude.
For a score of 68!
Persephone: Got chain 1 in 5! Got chain 2 in 6! Got chain 3 in 6! And did not submit for chains 4 or 5.
For a score of 117!
Which means... Jesus and Hades are tied at 28 so it comes down to time and.. Hades with 1:16:47 beats Jesus with 1:49:59! Hades wins immunity!
Also the smallest chains we could find ourselves were Chain 1 in 5 Insurrection -> Obedience -> Disobedience -> Behavior -> Bad Manners
Chain 2 in 4 Calibrate (as in adjust) -> Ruin -> Beautify -> Uglify
Chain 3 in 6 Deserve -> Forfeit -> Win -> Surrender -> Conquer -> Capitulate
Chain 4 in 3 Embarrass-> Comfort -> Magnify
Chain 5 in 6 Accord -> Difference -> Equality -> Disproportion -> Parity -> Dissimilitude
For a total of 24.
Lastly for the given divine intervention you can now only talk to the people above and below you on the list (and the top and bottom are connected): Hades Jael Athena Maat & Hathor Jesus Papa Persephone
