Norse mythology is filled with a whole slew of characters and has widely different tones, from very metal battles to beautiful weddings. However, at the core of the conflict of most stories, is the Trickster God Loki. Sometimes his schemes are petty or even kind of funny, but other times they manage to be cruel beyond measure, the focus of this challenge is one of the latter. Baldur was a God beloved by all, he was kind, joyful and courageous. He was so beloved that when he prophesied a grave fate for himself, all entities in the world pledged to not harm Baldur, all except for Mistletoe. And so Loki, the trickster decided to trick the blind God, Hod into killing him with a mistletoe branch. However, that was not enough for Loki, as when Baldur was granted a chance to come back to life after his death, all the creatures of earth were asked to weep for him, and all did, except for a giantess, who was Loki in disguise. When Odin heard this, him and the other Aesir hunted him down and chained him in a cave, for this was one trick that had gone too far. Today you will be completing a logic puzzle based around this story, specifically the hunt for Loki, here's how it will work. When you are ready to begin you will fill out this Google form (be sure to select starting), you will then see a link to the puzzle and any additional information you need to complete it. In order to submit your answers you will need to resubmit the form in the finishing section (so be ready to do that once you begin). If you answer correctly you will score the time it took you to complete the puzzle, if you answer incorrectly you will suffer a 20 minute penalty for each incorrect answer, up to a maximum time of 100 minutes. After all your submissions are tabulated, we will reveal everyone's individual results and the two tribes with the lowest average time to complete the puzzle will win immunity and the tribe with the highest average time will go to tribal council. Time Expectations: We would expect that your challenge attempt should not take longer than an hour. Communication: Discussion about this challenge is not allowed. The deadline for your submission is [insert deadline here].

Ooo love a good logic puzzle, I'd suggest a couple of edits to information they get after filling in the form. 1) At the top "Loki's evil misdeeds have led to the death of Baldr! Now the gods must try to capture him and his companions before more evil befalls Asgard! Search for Loki, Surt, Fenrir and Sigyn using the clues below. When you have figured out their locations, resubmit this form but click the "Finishing" option so you can put in your answers. " I would split up the flavour text and the instructions to make it: "Loki's evil misdeeds have led to the death of Baldr! Now the gods must try to capture him and his companions before more evil befalls Asgard! Search for Loki, Surt, Fenrir and Sigyn using the clues below. When you have figured out their locations, resubmit this form but click the "Finishing" option so you can put in your answers." Reason being is because a lot of people (myself included and I got lost for a second) will skip over the first paragraph if they see that it's flavour based, especially in a time based challenge I would potentially even add the instructions into the challenge post itself (saying you'll be given a grid and you must work out where Loki, Surt, Fenrir and Sigyn are going to be found on the grid) Realistically you wanna try and get as much info out as possible before the timer starts so that there's less panic of: Oh wait, what am I actually trying to do? and more just doing. 2) I'd swap the image link from imgur.com/pjKhJga to i.imgur.com/pjKhJga.png just purely because it shows the whole image on 1 page rather than a slight scroll which looks ugly haha 3) 7. Surt could move exactly 2 spaces either horizontally and be adjacent to Loki (he cannot move from Column A to Column I or vice versa) Is this meant to say: Surt could move exactly 2 spaces either horizontally or vertically? or maybe Surt could move exactly 2 spaces either direction horizontally?

And now time for results! First up we have the Jotunn Tribe: Maat & Hathor solved it in 0:34:23! Jesus did not finish and got a time of 1:40:00 Jael solved it in 0:34:04! The Radiance solved it in 0:32:14! Loki solved it in 1:04:40! Hermes solved it in 0:26:36...but had 4 errors bringing their time to 1:40:00 and last but not least Viy solved it in 0:28:42!
This brings Jotunns average time to 0:56:18
Now onto the Titans: Artemis solved it in 1:12:11! Hades solved it in 0:44:47! Athena solved it in 0:51:18! Cerberus solved it in 0:51:04! Kronos solved it in 0:49:41 but with 2 errors bringing them to 1:29:41. Rakshasa in place of Persephone solved it in 1:04:01~ and lastly Phobos and Desmos solved it in 0:34:30!
Bringing their average time to 0:58:13 meaning Jotunn Tribe is safe.
And lastly the Hitorigami Tribe: Eloritu solved it in 1:00:41 but had 3 errors bringing their time to 1:40:00. Bilious solved it in 0:18:07! Kitsune solved it in 0:56:56! Papatuanuku solved it in 0:34:53 but with 3 errors bringing them to 1:34:53. Chaos solved it in 1:17:13! and lastly Fili & Kili solved it in 0:28:16 with 4 errors bringing them to 1:40:00
This brings their average time to 1:14:32 and means that Hitorigami will once again attend tribal council. Titans, you are safe.
Clues: 1. Loki is in the river 2. If you add up the number of river tiles adjacent to each villain, the sum would be 7. Tiles can double count, and being on a tile is not being adjacent to it. 3. Surt is the only villain on the land of his side of the river. 4. No villains share the same row or column 5. Sigyn is the closest to the top of the board, followed by Surt, Loki and Fenrir being the closest to the bottom of the board. 6. Fenrir is the only villain adjacent to a tree, no villains are on a tree. 7. Surt could move exactly 2 spaces horizontally and be adjacent to Loki (he cannot move from Column A to Column I or vice versa) 8. Exactly 2 of the villains have a tree in the column AND row they are in. 9. No villain is adjacent to a hero or on the same tile as a hero. 10. Fenrir is in a direct diagonal line from both another villain and a hero. 11. Surt is the only villain in a column with a vowel.
Solution: Reminder that you still can only talk to people not on your tribe during tribal council. Good luck!
