I’m about to get on the bus home, but after I shower I’ll start on it. Obviously, don’t read this if you’re interested in doing this challenge, because I’m possibly gonna solve it

screenshot tools and photo editor is actually really interesting, since that means the image will likely have distortion to it. Possibly a thing of cryptic messages hidden in the color code? I’ve seen that before and thought it was interesting. Basically boiled down to take color-code, convert it to hex I think, then from hex to actually text.

Reading challenge details now, and it’s decipher instructions first, then solve puzzle. I actually really like that. Without actually looking into the challenge itself, I’m thinking a simple cipher first to actually decode the instructions, and then the puzzle has to do with image editing? That’s what currently makes the most sense? If it’s a cipher to start, I can easily google search a cipher cracker though that’d go against the spirit of the game, so I’m thinking a very simple substitution cipher, OR a caesar cipher, because both are very easy to solve with pen and paper. Caesar is harder to solve with pen and paper, but can be done.
The actual cipher solve probably isn’t gonna take the most time, and it’s going to be the puzzle itself, I’d imagine.
I hope as well, the mods are finding this enjoyable, or at least insightful to what the players could be thinking.

Pretty sure caesar and substitution ciphers are one in the same though. I refuse to use google to confirm this though.

So, first thing, look for any single letter ones. That's probably an I. I only see 21, which is very likely an I, so I'm going to assume 21 - I

Let's take a step back actually, and look at how often each number appears and try to figure out the probability of each letter.

Based on this, I'm very confident that 8/9/10/14/16/21 are all vowels, or S.

I'm absolutely convinced 21 is I. It only makes sense since there's only a single 21 by itself, and I is the only correct letter to be by itself.
